Cool Off with this DIY Sprinkler System for Kids

Sprinklers are particularly enjoyable to play with, especially if you have children. They go crazy bouncing through them. A professional sprinkler system can be pretty costly, however, so to combat this injustice, many people have started directing their DIY-ing skills and building sprinklers out of upcycled materials at home. With today’s DIY sprinkler system, I’m betting you have the supplies readily available at home. Let’s get started!

What You’ll Need:

  • an empty soda bottle
  • scissors
  • duct tape
  • garden hose
  • push pin or corncob holder (optional)

How To Make A DIY Sprinkler System:

Step 1: Clean Your Bottle

Make sure to thoroughly clean your empty soda bottle before using it.

Step 2: Secure The Bottle Into The End Of The Garden Hose

Take the end of the garden hose and your empty bottle and secure it together with duct tape.

Step 3: Create The Holes

Take your scissors and simply poke your bottles to create the holes.

Tip: If you want a precise result to cover every direction you want the water to come through, mark the areas of your bottle where you want to create the holes. Then, use a push pin or corncob holder to create the holes in marked areas.

Step 4: Turn On The Water

Turn on the water! The higher the water pressure the higher your sprinkler will spray. So let the fun begin!
